Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz 1)

The big house has 900 seats, the small one 300. Here you can watch the classics from Goethe to Samuel Becket and Shakespeare. The “Junge Schauspielhaus” offers a programme for the young audience. (Münsterstraße 446).


Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Heinrich-Heine-Allee 16a) / German Opera at the Rhine

The Operahouse of Düsseldorf cooperates with the „Schauspielhaus Duisburg“. On both stages actors sing and dance.


Theater an der Kö (Schadowstraße 11)


Komödchen (Kay-und-Lore-Lorentz-Platz)

In this small cabaret most performances are done by the ensemble cast with Christian Ehring, Maike Kühl and Heiko Seidel. But there are regularly guests on stage as well.



Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (Grabbeplatz 4)

This Museum in the „Altstadt“ does not have its own collection but the exhibitions, which focus mainly on contemporary art, change regularly.

Museum Kunstpalast (Ehrenhof 4-5)

In addition to regularly changing exhibitions they show European paintings from 15th to 20th century, modern art of the 20th and 21st century, a graphic collection as well as a collection of sculptures and applied art.

Filmmuseum (Schulstraße 4)

The museum presents the history and technological development of the film production. There are countless film posters and a costume collection.

Metropol (Brunnenstraße 20)

The Metropol belongs to a group of art-house movie theatres in Düsseldorf. Among them are: Atelier im Savoy Theater (Graf-Adolf-Straße 47), Cinema (Schneider-Wibbel-Gasse 5), Bambi (Klosterstraße 78) und  Souterrain (Dominikanerstraße 4). Here, movies are also shown in their original language.
